국립한국교통대학교 반도체신소재공학과 에너지반도체 연구실에서는 용액공정 전자소재에 관한 축적된 노하우와 연구개발 기술을 바탕으로 미래 AI 사회에 필수적인 전자소자와 에너지원에 관한 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 크게 아래와 같은 두 가지 연구 테마에 관한 개발을 진행중에 있습니다.

 

1. Thermoelectric Composites based on Functional Flexible Materials

Our research lab develops thermoelectric materials as a sustainable energy source for wearable human-friendly devices. We focus on organic/nano composites combining thermoelectric candidates like polymer semiconductors, MXene, and nanocrystalline semiconductors with body-attachable matrices (hydrogels, elastomers) to enhance self-healing, adaptability, and stretchability for efficient energy harvesting from body heat. Additionally, we explore wet-process nanocrystal synthesis to enable large-scale production and cost reduction beyond traditional Bi₂Te₃, SnSe, and skutterudite-based systems.

 

2. Material engineering for neuromorphic device : Chalcogenide, organic material, oxide, etc...

Our research lab focuses on material engineering for neuromorphic devices to maximize their performance. We explore key materials (chalcogenide, organic material, metal oxide, etc..) for next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) and neural network computing, optimizing their electronic and ionic properties to develop high-efficiency, low-power, and highly reliable neuromorphic devices. Through the synthesis and structural control of various functional materials, as well as the development of advanced device fabrication techniques, we aim to drive innovation in future AI hardware.
